Three vocational awards were presented for Police Officer, Fireman, and Teacher of the Year.
Three vocational awards were presented for Police Officer, Fireman, and Teacher of the Year at the club's February 27, 2019 meeting. The recipients are Sgt. Jeffrey Banks, Cpt. Jens Jensen, Jr., and Michael Merritte, respectively. Every year, the Avenue of Vocational Service works with the Police Department, the Fire Department and the Galveston Independent School District to identify and award a Fire Fighter, a Peace Officer, and a Teacher. The awards are presented at a Club meeting and family members and co-workers of those receiving an award attend.
